A small village on the bank of river Polla besides National Highway 37. Also known as Kaljhar satra, this village is one of the sacred places for Assamese Vaishnavs since it was the workplace of Mahapurukh (Prophet) Gopal Dev. Presently inhabited by almost 50 Assamese families, population of this village is less than 500. The main source of income for the villagers is farming although some of them are engaged in different govt and private jobs and business as well in different parts of Assam and outside Assam. The people are simple, easy going, God fearing and has avery laid back way of life. Economic growth is very slow compared to sorrounding villages where most of the people were really poor till the end of last century but now developing at a very fast pace. This village has a primary school and a high school but quality of education is really doubtful and results are not at all encouraging. The Namghar in the middle of the village serves as a community centre as well where "Holi" and "Jeth Mohiya Naam" are celebrated every year with much funfare.
