Approx position of Pedernalis Wreck - 25ft - Oil tanker torpedoed by U-156 on 16 February 1942 off the refinery in San Nicolas. The bow and stern were removed to form a new ship which took part in the Normandy invasion and the mangled mid-section was sunk off Palm Beach for use by the US and Dutch Marines for target practice. The bottom is littered with wreckage and debris as well as the occasional unexploded 500lb bomb.
