Mitchell's restaurant was established in 1906 by Greek immigrant Gust Mitchell (Constantinos Michalopoulos). The restaurant moved to its current location, the ground floor of an old 7-story office building, in 1977. The descendants of Michalopoulos still own the restaurant, and purchased the office building in 1998.
