The Evangelical Baptist community arose in Ozyorsk during the 1960's. Private house, where the faithful gathered for prayer, was on the site of the present parking lot at the intersection of Semenov and Muzrukova streets. History did not retain the identity of its first leader, and the archives of the FSB are not disclosing it. It is only known that he was subsequently expelled from the city. Believers were in hiding and secretly continued to gather in one of the apartments. With the fall of the communist regime, the church began public ministry and membership started to increase. For a long time believers gathered on the premises of Lenin Komsomol Club. Today the community - the Church of Evangelical Christians-Baptists of Ozersk "Revival" continues the ministry, collaborating with rehabilitation centers and seeking opportunities to acquire or build the House of Prayer in the city.
