Norwich Park Mine is located 24km south east of Dysart and 266km south west of Mackay.

Norwich Park open-cut coal mine began production in 1979 and has a production capacity of 5.5 million tonnes of coking coal and ultra low volatile coal a year.

The Norwich Park open-cut mine is owned by the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) whose beneficial owners are BHP Billiton Limited and Mitsubishi Development Pty Ltd. The mine is located 25 km southeast of Dysart and is operated by BMA. Low volatile coking coal is exported to Asia and Europe. Saleable coal production is approximately 4 Mtpa. Measured and Indicated coal resources are 423 million tonnes (2003). Reported workforce for Norwich Park in 2003 is 272.
