Built for Ethel and William H. Crocker c. 1907 on 700 acres. Built after the family home was destroyed by the San Francisco earthquake of 1906 - hence the name "New Place". Designed by Lewis Parsons Hobart. Modeled on a villa from Caen, France with a few Italian influences mixed in. Formal gardens created by Bruce Porter were an elegant landscape of planned vistas interrupted by fountains, large urns, pools, low walls and stone steps. Lavishly decorated by Elsie de Wolfe.

Currently used as the clubhouse for the Burlingame Country Club.
