Sari-sari stores are ubiquitous all around the Philippines. The picture shows a typical local sari-sari store where one can buy daily necessities. Typically, the customers don't enter the store, but order from outside, and the owner/sales person hands them the merchandise over the counter. Purchases range from canned foods, beer, laundry soap, sodas, snacks, personal hygiene items, or even a single cigarette to several varieties of bulk rice (see the 3 bowls on the counter top in the first picture) that can be ordered in small incremental amounts......
