Gan is an inhabited island on the eastern perimeter of Haddhunmathi Atoll, in the Maldives. It is the longest island in the Maldives (7.8km long), and has a population of over 2500. It had some of the best preserved ruins from the Buddhist era, but being unprotected, these have now been so vandalised that only rubble remains.
