Church of St. John the Warrior (Moscow)

Church of St. John the Warrior on Yakimanka Street is a Russian Orthodox Church in 46, Bolshaya Yakimanka, in Yakimanka District of Moscow was constructed during 1704-1717, during the reign of Peter the Great. Ivan ZarudnyIt was the architect of this church.

The boundary was constructed during 1754-1758. Decoration by Gavriil Domozhirov and Vasili Bazhenov during 1779-1791 was lost in 1860s. The iconostasis taken from the demolished Three Saints church at Red Gates was refitted here in 1928. The main building is a traditional muscovite octagon on a square. There are two coaxial octagons, each crowned with a half-dome.
