  This place is for drinking water.The water is comming from the mountain which called as keerani mountain .This palce will rarely will go dry .Water is available 365 days .The place is called as Anai vilunthan Ooranai which means that there was a elephant which came to this place for drinkinging water and fell down while it is drinking water .That is why it is called as Elephant fell down tank ."Anani" is tamil word for elephant "vilunthan" is asfell down ,Hence it is called as Anaivilunthan oorani.
