fortification, historic ruins
The construction was started in 1529 by the Portugese, but it had to be cancelled because of the local tribes` hostility. In 1609 the Portuguese chose Portuguese foundations for their fort and commenced with building the rest of the fort. It was finished in 1609 although that year the locals, Bandanese, killed 40 builders, the Dutch soldiers.
Now the fort is in ruins although one can see 2 left bastions and the rest of the walls.
Kondisi benteng sudah hancur walaupun masih ada tanda-tanda bekas dinding dan menara pengintai disebelah kiri.
