    But i used to read it was written as Sungei Kolok. Either they pronounce it that way or they don't know how to spell it properly.. Btw, why Golok..?? Why not the other town such as Kg Paloh Pintu Geng (ada supermarket oooo..!!!) Kg Paloh Pintu Geng rulesssss...!!!!!

    historically, the original local pronouciation is Sungai Golok. in attempt of the thai language who always try to destroy local malay accent in southern thai, they corrupted the place's name to Sungai Kolok. the common thai language doesn't have the sound "g", unlike in the malay accent. therefore they changed the place's name, along with many other place's name in souther thailand, so that it sounded more like thai language.
