town, municipality, second-level administrative division, draw only border

Pasir Gudang is a town within the Malaysian state of Johor. The town borders Singapore to the south, the city of Johor Bahru (JB) to the west, the town of Kota TInggi to the north and the town of Pengerang to the east. Pasir Gudang encompasses nearly 360 sq km of the southern tip of Peninsular Malaysia by the Strait of Johor. As of 2010, Pasir Gudang contained a population of 46,571.

Home to the Johor Port, Pasir Gudang is also an industrial town. Heavy industries, such as petrochemicals, shipbuilding and palm oil processing, as well as freight forwarders, are mostly concentrated around the Pasir Gudang Industrial Estate. However, the heavier chemical industries have worsened pollution within the town. In 2019, chemical waste was dumped along Sungai Kim Kim, triggering mass closure of schools within Pasir Gudang as hundreds of students suffered breathing difficulties.
