Municipal Library of Prague (Czech: Městská knihovna v Praze) is a public library. The library was founded in 1891 by the City Council of Prague as a public municipal library royal capital city of Prague. Since 1903 it is based on Marianske Square in the Old Town, but the current building was built in the years 1925 - 1928 by Prague urban cargo insurance companies. In 2007, RBM had 46 branches and three mobile libraries. At the beginning of 2006 to the library fund over 2.2 million items.
