  • those were the days in the early 70s when stalwarts strode like colossus, intellectuals subdued minor disdain, and educationists sent shivers through thick class walls without uttering a word. it was a time when sports heroes graced national honours, scholars inked their prowess in national exams and debates, and a very frequent newspaper mention of a dasilvite received roars of applause. those were also days when shetty's hot ragda on a rainy monday was our raison détre, when the recently introduced neck ties also held dondos and wren & martins together, and sardarjee's wada-pav outside the main school gate was the best there ever was. those were the days when late comers hunch-rushed along and under the teachers'room window to their classes accompanied by tired rasping strains of 'bridge over the river kwai', when resurrection meant the eagle-eyed librarian and not jesus'ascent into heaven, and fossils meant the uniformed paul and babban. thank you 'birdie', barbara, sharmaji, borges, mishraji, stanley, clemy, thomas, thadani and the ever young Vaz. you've enriched me beyond m wildest dreams!

  • Hi I passed my 10th Std in 1982. I had a wonderful time studying there. Both my younger brother's also studied in the same school. Our principal during that time was Ms Barbara Remedius, Vice Principal was Mr Borgess, I had a good time with teachers like Mrs C Remedius, Mr Stanley D'Silva, Mr Gajare, Mishra Sir, Jacob Sir, Koshy Madam, The school during those days had a wonderful atmosphere, with a huge library.
  • I was in the first batch of 10+2+3. Fantastic place, fantastic atmosphere great teachers Mr Mishra and Jainapur used to teach us Hindi, Stanley Sir used to teach us History, Gajare sir marathi, Murzello mam swas the principal, Barbra mam was Vice principal. I remember l B Kenny who was our cricket coach, Albert Machado was Scouts and RSP.Whenever I visit India I take my son there to show him the ground where we played the hall where we had so many functions. Wonderful, simply wonderful
  • I accidentally came across this site while searching for pictures of my old house "Rose Villa" (still not found any) in Dadar, opposite Dr. Antonio DaSilva School. Mrs.Chande who taught the primary section is my Ma and I am the niece of Josephine Murzello (Birdie). My ma still lives in the same location opposite the school and is doing well. As a child I played in the school compound, watched football matches and science exhibitions, went along to school picnics and to Bandra fair. As a college student I taught several classes when teachers went on leave and supervised during the Board exams. It was indeed one of those greatest opportunities to be part of such a wonderful heritage with unmatched respect, teacher quality, class of students and not forgetting the distinct bell. I speak of this school and my family teachers with a sense of pride. I can search the whole world over but I know I can never ever find another Antonio Day.
  • @Lovita Mrs. Chande must have tought almost all of us on this forum and will always be on the list of our favourite teachers. I am from 2000(SSC) batch and can't recollect Josephine Murzello. When I had joined the school our principal was Mr. Borges known as Tatya Tope. After reading some of the posts it seems that Billu is immortal and have been selling samosa pav from the time the school started :). Inflation had never affected the price of the his samosa pav but was only visible from size of the samosa.
