The numerous dark squares in this area are traditional Jeju graves. The squares are boudary lines made by stacked lava rocks. The mound in the middle is an above the ground grave of earth. The graves are on the west side of Sweomuri Oreum (쇠머리오름) with a view of Jeju Island. IN the old days, it was important that graves had the best possible view for the deceased.
