railway, railroad yard
CN Rail's main rail yard and also the location of the Via Rail passenger train station. The Chappell yards were developed as part of the city's effort to relocate the main CN Rail lines out of downtown Saskatoon in the 1960s. It also included the removal of the main line into downtown and redeveloping the right-of-way as the Idylwyld Expressway. It also included removing the CN Rail bridge and building the Idylwyld (later Senator Sid Buckwold) Bridge on the same site.
