சீயமங்கலம் சிவன் கோயில்-Seeyamangalam Sivan temple

Seeyamangalam's cave temple is situated west this village.Here 27 inscriptions are recorded from Pallava regime to the Pandya rule.as told in the inscriptions this temple is called Thunandar. It faces west direction.Dwaraplakas,Nataraja and Siva as Rishabandaka are strikingly beautiful.In front of the garbhgraha mandapas were added during the Cholas,Pandyas and Vijayanagara domain. A few hundred mts north of this temple in the slopes of hillock Jain relief works were carved by Western Ganga King Rajamalla II in 9th century C.E. This village is located 2 kilometers west of Desur.-M.GANDHI.
