The building was constructed in 1912 as an auto showroom and garage for Universal Car Agency (who sold vehicles for Russell Motor Car Company, Ford Motor Company, and Cadillac), but renovated in 1924. It would become The Baum & Brody Furniture Store in the 1950s, and by the 1980s, it would be the home of the Windsor Fish Market and the Coach and Horses Pub.
