Alnö old church

Alnö Old Church is one of the oldest in the region. The church was built in the twelfth century, and is famed for the beauty of its interior, which is very well preserved. The island of Alnö lies about fifteen minutes drive to the northeast of Sundsvall town centre. The medieval inventory includes a processional crucifix from the fifteenth century. The interior is decorated with medieval fresco work. The pulpit is from the seventeenth century. The church is a popular venue for classical music concerts.
