Mauldin is a rapidly growing major suburb of Greenville. An incorporated city with a population of 24,724 at the 2020 census. Named after a station of the Greenville-Laurens railroad, itself named for South Carolina Lieutenant Governor W. L. Mauldin. Incorporated by the South Carolina General Assembly in 1960.
