  • My Grand Mother Sri Vemuri Rajarathnamma(Late) use to tell how gundupalem was named. A long back Merchants named Gundu’s stayed here and they use to do trading. Their premises had huge doors with bells, every day they opens in the morning and closes in the evening at std time. Due to bells sound nearby villagers named Gunduvaripalem...later its tuned as Gundupalem. Due frequent cyclones Merchents shifted from here.
  • Thanks Vasu Vemuri for the info. My grandfather Thumati Nagaiah (My mother Samrajyam's father) and his brothers are from Gundupalem. Visited after 30 years and found greenery all around and felt very happy.
