  • "(The remains of the technical site here are substantial and should be marked to explain this unusual feature. There is no reason to delete this tag. )" Well thats good of you, you should of added a description in the first place to back up your actions. A tag with no description seems like nonsense. But I will give you credit for adding a description at the least.
  • My apologies. It had been my intention to add a description all along and I've been keeping this on a watchlist, thanks.
  • RAF Marsworth, started life as an RAF OTU using Wellington bombers. The 44th Bomb Group 8th US Air Force then moved in with B-24 Liberator bombers. However they soon moved out. As soon as the airfield was reconstructed and the runways rebuilt, it was named Station 113 and housed both a 8th Air Force Combat Crew Replacement Centre and Composite Command HQ, The 406 (Night Leaflet) and 36th (Radio Counter Measures Squadron then moved in until 1945. My book "Secret Squadrons of the Eighth" gives full details of the airfield history. .
