Derry Ormond Tower, built c.1837, was almost certainly designed by C.R.Cockerell (1788-1863, also the architect of the College in Lampeter, Derry Ormond House and probably Betws Bledrws Church) and was apparently built by one David J Morgan (as recorded on a gravestone in Bettws Bledrws Church). It has a lofty square base, a tall round column, moulded cap, a square platform, pointed doorway and a stone newel stair lighted by slits. Said to have been built by local unemployed for the squire of Derry Ormond House, it is a local landmark and is visible from as far afield as Lampeter and Llangybi.

The tower was damaged during 1970s and partly renovated by D. B. Hague. It is currently derelict: a small hole in the bricked up doorway allows access to the foot of the staircase but the stairs are virtually impassable due to rubble and accumulated bird droppings. A large gap in the stone steps about 10' up prevents any further access.
