Tower closed in 2008, having had 20 years of working they didn't think they'd have. The mine was bought by its miners after it was threatened with closure by the National Coal Board. They knew they could make the mine pay, and they fought to be able to take it over themselves. They won, in more ways than one. Llongyfarchiadau, glowyr Twr. Congratulations, colliers of Tower.
