  • Anyone remember the ham dip sandwiches? Would love the recipe.
  • I remember the beef dips on cheese bread and tossed ice cold salads. I was just a young girl starting out working in Panorama City and loved this restaurant. Would love to have the recipe if the owners would be so kind. Sandy H.
  • The owner (Bill Castengway sp?) passed away a long time ago. My mom worked there for 30 years. Regarding the recipes, I only know it was a Chopped Iceberg Salad with Roquefort Dressing. My mom would bring the dressing home in cartons. So it was something I ate growing up. The beef dip was on grilled french bread, with melted parmesan sprinkles (the old Kraft green carton type). I don't know much else about the sliced beef or the delicious sauce they put on it.
  • Beef Dip - with grilled french bread and melted parmesan sprinkles (the old Kraft green carton type). The sliced roast beef was soaked in beef consume then placed between the grilled bread slices. It was served with french fries. This was an option for the staff when they got their dinner, my mom would sometimes bring one home with. I would have a late night meal watching the Steve Allan show.
  • Hey Frank, my mom worked there with your mom. Mary Jane Card. Your mom was awesome. I remember her well. I'm Cindy Card Wright the youngest of her kids. Did you go to Vegas with your mom, my mom and me to see Elvis? I think you were there. I think my mom wanted to set us up, I was only 15 or 16. I was just going through some old picures and came across a few of our mothers together on there ventures. It was a sad day when the Red Barn closed. I loved the cheese bread and cheese sauce for my baked potato. Good food and good times. I don't know if you remember but there were 6 of us kids, 3 boys 3girls. My mom passed in 2008, first 3 of her children passed before her and 1 brother passed in 2016. Just my twin Candy and I are left.
  • Frank, I just posted on here. It was supposed to be a reply to your comment. It was about your mom Betty and my mom Mary Jane Card working together. If you see this look for my post. Cinderella Card Wright
