The Comitium (Rome)

This area is paved with marble with the print of an octagonal base. The Comitium was the political centre of Rome, where the Comitia Curiata met and represented the 30 curiaea that Rome was divided into. The twelve bronze tables of the fundamental laws of Roman rights were posted on the tribune of the Comitium in the middle of the 5th century BC.
