A privately-owned rock quarry that was, for many many years a place for swimming, snorkling, cliff-diving and various romantic activities until it recently became off-limits to the public. The quarry, with it's location, several hundred yards of the main road, and it's smaller size has an intimacy that is lacking in the larger quarry which is it's twin. The large flat rock at the apex has been the stuff of urban legend for many years regarding not-too brainy folks attmepting to ride bicyles off the ledge to suicides by star-crossed lovers. In July, the sun reflects beautifully off the church steeple in Berlin, just at sunset. Worth a look.
It's wooded setting and proximity to th watertower and the graveyard makes give t6his quarry more personality and character than either of the other two local quarries. This quarry is off-limits without permission, so, trespassers beware!
