When built in 1970, Hochstetter and the adjoining Cooke Hall were intended to be part of 20 linked towers housing the health sciences on the North Campus. From this original plan, only Cooke and Hochstetter halls were built, however, since the health sciences remained on the South Campus. UB’s pharmacy school was located in Cooke-Hochstetter until its move in 2012 to the renovated Kapoor Hall on the South Campus.
