South of the church you will find the Folk Museum which was opened in 1962. The area was built around the Risåträskgården, a farmhouse from the village Risåträsk. In the house you can e.g. see well-kept wall paintings by the travelling painter P O Hållén. There are also shows of different crafts and antiques from the peasant culture.
Some other interesting buildings are a baker's cottage, a summer cottage from Åbyn, a storehouse on poles, a barley storehouse and an octagonal barn. The area is at the same place as the old church town that was destroyed in a fire in 1930.
