This is a small, circular fenced off area inside Flushing Meadows Park. It is reserved for the flying (and crashing) of control line model airplanes. The fenced off area contains four smaller flying circles. Two are paved and two are grass. The paved circles are clearly visible.

Control line flying was popular until radio control models became common. There has been a renewed interest in control line flying recently. The flying field is a great place to visit on a warm sunny weekend. Some of the models are very impressive. Some of the modelers are very capable and can perform interesting stunts. When visiting be certain not to enter the flying circles when model airplanes are flying and avoid stepping on the control lines. It makes the modelers angry! If you are interested in building or flying your own model feel free to ask the modelers you find there. They are generous with their advice.
