botanical garden, Napoleonic Wars 1803-1815, Cultural heritage of Lithuania
Founded in 1781. The Garden owns the land in two last historical areas - Vingis Park and Kairėnai at present. Modern Botanic Garden is not only the largest in Lithuania (the total area of 199 hectares) but also have the richest collections of plants.
This area is protected by state as formal Jesuit monastery and other buildings complex.
