Gričiupis eldership (Kaunas)

The newest elderate in Kaunas city, formed in 2004 after separating Gričiupis neighbourhood from Dainava eldership. The most notable object in the eldership is Kaunas University of Technology campus with four main buildings, technology center, IT development center, two sport halls and a stadium. Also there are two shopping malls: "Molas" and "Girstutis", as well as "Girstutis" culture center and the city zoo on the western edge of the eldership. The main streets across the eldership are K.Baršausko street on the south, Kovo 11-osios street on the east and A.Baranausko street on the north. The central part of the eldership lacks public transportation of any kind, but the edges are well serviced by multiple bus and trolleybus routes.
