The association "Lakmos" was founded in Ioannina in 1971. It is a not profit cultural organisation. Its goal is the preservation and revival of tradition of the region of Epirus and especially, of M.Peristeri, where its founders and members come from. In 1982 a dancing group was created. Traditional dances of the region and the rest of Greece are being taught there.

The association is vivid and active in the city of Ioannina. It has organised concerts and other festivities. It has also participated in International Folkloric Festivals in Europe, representing the rich traditional culture of Greece.
