this is a nice day hike; you can hike up to the peak around the east side, see all the way to Calgary from the top, go around down the west side (there is a little chute to navigate at the top, a rope was a nice little security measure) and once you get back to the front side (the south side) you get to run down a couple hundred yards of skree.
Yamnuska is often called the Jewel of Canadian Rockies Traditional Climbing. There are hundreds of climbing routes on it's south face. Most rockies climbers end up cutting they're teeth on Yamnuska's limestone walls.
