  • This is the oldest school in Puthantharuvai. The first name of the school was Muslim Board School. Initially the Muslims of Puthantharuvai village helped the school. It was located at Big Street in the residential plot of TMS Abdul Gaffoor, the former President of Panchayat Board. Then the school was temporarily moved into the Arabic Madarasa Building near to Sinna Palliwasal during the new building construction period in sixties (1960). In 1960 the newly constructed building near to Big Mosque opened by the then Union Chairman Late M.Ganesa Pandian. Mr. S.M. Mahdhoom Muhammad, famously called as "Peria Savanna Moonaa" was the prime pillar to bring the school to the present building to standard 1st to 8th std. along with the help of Mr. N.M. Noor Mohamed, Mr. A.P. Noor Mohamed, Mr. S.M.M. Mahdoom Meerasaibo (Seeni Maraikayar), Mr. S.A.M. Abdul Cader and T.M.S. Abdul Gaffoor, etc. The first flag hoisted in the opening ceremoney of the school by Mr M.A.C. Syed Mohamed, Senior Partner of A.S.M. Abdul cader & Company, Sri Lanka. The remarkable service of Mr. V. VELUSAMY, the then Head Master is also a notable one. The school re-named in 1960 as Panchayat Union Middle School.
