The National Laboratory for Scientific Computing is a research institute that belongs to the Brazilian Ministry of Science and Technology.
LNCC was founded in 1980 to foster the research and development of Scientific Computing in the country, providing support to the Brazilian scientific and technological communities.
Since its foundation, LNCC has achieved excellence in its activities as a result of efforts by its staff, whose specialization varies from physical and biological sciences to mathematics and computer science.
As an excellence center, besides promoting high level scientific research and developing institutional projects, LNCC promotes advanced training of highly qualified personnel in its expertise areas.
