Bhuvanagiri is a panchayat town in Cuddalore district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.

Bhuvanagiri is located at 11.47° N 79.63° E.[1] It has an average elevation of 11 metres (36 feet). Bhuvanagiri is located 8 kms from Chidambaram.

Bhuvanagiri is a holy place (Birth place of Ragavendra). Bhuvanagiri means swarga mudi ie., Heaven top ( bhuvana for swargam & giri for mudi). It is famous for the handmade handloom products ( such as lungies, hand kurchiefs, sarees, dhotis, ets.). It is known for its Silk Sarees and Silk Textiles which are called as Bhuvanagiri Pattu.

Bhuvanagiri is divided into Melbhuvanagiri & Kelbhuvanagiri. Ancient temples of Varadharaja perumal(in Adivaraganatham) & Shiva-Eswaran (near tourist bungalow) are located in bhuvanagiri.
