former train/railway station
Add category
During the late 19th century along the railway dating from 1868 Nieuwpoort-Diksmuide, a simple train station was built in Ramskapelle.
During World War I, the strategically important railway stations were set as observation posts. The stations themselves were often largely destroyed but the observation towers stood by the war.
The station was after the Battle of the yser (18 to 31 October 1914) converted to observation post and is the only example preserved till to day.
