The home of the Syria Shriners fraternal organization was built in 1994 in replacement of the former Syria Mosque that for years stood in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Besides administrative offices and meeting rooms, the "shrine" has a three-tiered ballroom that accommodates up to 1000 people. The facilities are rented out for meetings and social functions.
