Woodland privately owned by the Tumby Estate and leased out to Woodhall Spa scouts. There are large bomb craters, made when unused bombs were detonated after WW2, which prove a very popular place amoungst the local youth as both a mountain biking, and BMXing ground.

  • Scouts wood is a excellent place to go mountain biking if your into tricks and getting air there are several kickers and plenty of little ramps for the young and you can also take your dog for a walk around there
  • today several people have found some concrete under the soil but we dont know how big they are if you have any thing info on the old base could you please write it down on this site thank you.
  • the concrete is the base for a nissen hut. the whole area was an army camp during ww2. many units were stationed there over 5 years. there are lots of building foundations still visible. i found live ammunition there when i was a kid ( 30 years ago ) there was a rifle range where the big white house is located.
