Wenlock Edge is a long wooded escarpment stretching from The Wrekin to Craven Arms. It is a classic scarp and dip slope geological feature. The scarp slope faces north west. The limestone ridge is the remains of a coral reef, so there are lots of opportunities for fossil hunting amongst the exposed rocks. The area is very popular with walkers and the National Trust own a seven mile stretch of the ridge.
