Kharmang is a very remote and far flung Tehsil of Gilgit Baltistan located towards North East of Skardu the valley is starts from Sermik and ends at (LOC) Line Of Control in Kargil Sector of Indo Pak border the valley is located about 100 KM away from the capital city of Baltistan Skardu.s original name (with diacritics) is Kharmang. Geographically and historically the valley is very important. Its also important to the point of natural vegetation specially valuable medicinal pants, rich fresh water source and the great plateau (Deosai) is located towards the west of valley as well as the valley as known as the valley of forts (Khar) the name Kharmang has been given to the valley due to presence number of forts (Khar) the valley is also its extreme importance in defense point of view as the area is directly connected with Indian held Kashmir in Kargil Sector. Kharmang Khas was the central ruling area in the regime of Raja,s but the area now administratively control from Tolti. The area is rich in fruity trees as well as scattered postures located at high mountains.
