Frösö Church is one of the most popular churches for weddings in Sweden. It can be dated back to the twelfth or thirteenth century. The altarpiece and pulpit are both baroque works from the eighteenth century. The attractive and characteristic bell tower, which stands seperately from the church, was built in the eighteenth century. Archaeological investigations indicate that the church was built on a pagan site of sacrifice.
