A major expansion bringing in significant modern architecture was done by David Salmela, AIA in 2015. Fast Horse purchased the building in 2006, which was formerly a repair and maintenance facility (built in 1948) for one of the neighboring warehouse buildings. In order to expand but also save money; Salmela gutted the building on the original footprint and added two stories above it while the firm temporarily moving to the Open Book building. The new facade features a prominent “open to the elements” fire exit.
