This used to be the site of Lutheran College and Seminary who owned the land out to 8th Street (where Sobeys is now located). The building was originally designed by Webster and Gilbert.
It was later purchased by Central Pentecostal College which rebranded themselves as Horizon College and Seminary. They added on the dorms on the south side of the property and the circular classroom on the northwest. The lot also had two lots on the south side of the property which were sold to keep the struggling college afloat.
