 nonresidential building, 17th century construction

The Old Quaker Meeting House, Flushing is a historic Quaker house of worship c.1694. Built by John Bowne and other early Quakers, it is the oldest house of worship in New York State and the second oldest Quaker meeting house in the nation. It is a monument to an important event in the struggle for religious freedom in America, the Flushing Remonstrance, a document which is perhaps the earliest demand for religious freedom in America.
