Built in 1896 as the Elysée Palace Hotel. Mata Hari was arrested here in 1917. The hotel closed in 1920 and was converted to offices, though the grand public rooms remained. Became HSBC's French HQ in 2001. They sold the property in 2009 to the Emir of Qatar and it is being restored as the new headquarters of Louis Vuitton and a LV-branded luxury hotel, set to open in 2026.
