In 1952 Pete Harman ran a burger stand on this spot, and Colonel Sanders persuaded him to serve his secret recipe chicken. Harman introduced the paper bucket, and sold complete chicken dinners, and was the catalyst that launched Kentucky Fried Chicken as a franchise all over the world. It's been said that Pete Harman did for Colonel Sanders what Ray Kroc did for the McDonalds brothers.
