The Sanctuary is located on the left bank of the river Metaurus, to the side of the Adriatic highway, 3 km from Fano (PU) and near the mouth. The church has ancient origins, perhaps earlier than the twelfth century.
Surely the first important moments in them lives in the first half of the fourteenth century, when this small convent hospital is established with the Franciscan tertiary Blessed Francis of Montegranaro, also known as Blessed Cecco from Pesaro. The church has an aspect that is of the restorations that have affected in 1926, when it became a parish, and in 1930, after the earthquake. The feast of the sanctuary, still widely followed, takes place on Easter Tuesday in the adjacent pine forest.
